Jack Fenn's Courtyard Cafe is Ballina's new foodie destination situated in the courtyard at Belleek Castle. The cafe itself is housed in the former 1820's stables & coach house at Belleek Castle. The exterior brickwork & character has been restored and the interior design of the building has been given a modern design inspired by the life of Jack Fenn, a sailor & adventurer! Jack Fenn's Courtyard Cafe recently won the award for "Best Newcomer in Connaught 2018" at the Irish Restaurant Awards and Cafe of the year 2019” on Georgina Campbell’s Ireland guide

At Jack Fenn's we use only the best quality and locally sourced ingredients in our cafes food and homemade produce. We use freshly ground coffee beans sourced from BeanWest Roasters in Westport, County Mayo. We have our own house blend which is unique to Jack Fenn's. We have a wide range of teas sourced from the Irish Tea Company in County Roscommon. 

The food isn’t the only thing you’ll marvel at in Jack Fenn’s Courtyard Café – the setting also makes for a great experience. Situated in the old stable buildings adjacent to the Castle, in an intimate but quirky space! Many of the materials from Belleek Castle have been beautifully repurposed to create an environment that reflects both the history of the castle and the Wild Atlantic landscape in which we live.

And of course there is the story of Jack Fenn the sailor & smuggler! You can learn more about the life of Jack Fenn in the tour of Belleek Castle, available daily from 11am till 4pm.

Christmas vibes

Highly recommend
My experience started with a friendly welcome to the cafe followed by a very festive mulled wine. The atmosphere was cosy, relaxed with an impressive music range. I had a big bowl of heartwarming soup with a very generous portion. The blueberry cheesecake was delicious and definitely worth the indulgence. Overall the staff were very friendly, pleasant and this is one of the nicest places to eat in Ballina.

Super Experience

Down in Ballina from Dublin for the weekend with the family. Jack Fenns was recommended to to us by the receptionist in our hotel and it didn't disappoint. The cafe is very warn and cosy. The staff where attentive and very welcoming. Food was top notch with good portions and a great selection of herbal teas. Can't recommend this cafe enough. It's also in a great spot, we had a lovely walk around Belleek forest beforehand to build up a nice appetite!

Delicious coffee and home baking in a relaxed setting

Definitely worth a stop after a stroll in Belleek Woods! Friendly efficient staff. All in a warm cosy setting. Highly recommended!
