Kids Banquet in the Castle June 2016
What a great day we had here in the castle at the end of the school year for 70 local children who attended the Mulberry Tree pre school.
The event was co-organized by Breege Jackson and the team here in the castle, when the kids all arrived they were in full costume for the day, we had knights and princess in full regal outfits.
There was only one place to bring this group for the special day and we headed down to the Medieval Banquet Hall, where we fist played a short game to fined obscure objects around the hall…an apatite was already staring to build and our kitchen team were on hand to provide our esteemed guests with much needed nourishment in the form in light bites. We also had a platter for each of the staff from the Mulberry Tree.
At one end of the Hall we had a number of items from the museum on display and we had a short talk to the kids about some of these items, such as the fossils and swords and armour. Sticking to the knights theme Breege had organized with Chris from Rags to Riches ponies to have Sir Brutus the meanest Knight in Ireland to come and talk to kids…outside there was also a display with Irelands only unicorn.
The kids and the staff from both the Mulberry tree and Belleek had a fantastic time and were only delighted to be part of such a memorable day for local kids, and can only hope that some of our Knights and Princesses will one day be back with us to celebrate as Brides & Grooms.
